Description:
The Society of Women Engineers Annual Conference (WE25) is the largest career and professional development event for women in engineering and technology. Attending WE25 is more than just attending a regular conference; it is an unparalleled opportunity for students to advance their careers, represent Texas A&M on a global stage, and bring back valuable insights to enrich our campus community.

WE25 hosts over 16,000 attendees and features hundreds of workshops, panels, and networking sessions tailored specifically for engineering students and professionals. Topics include technical skill development, leadership, innovation, inclusive teamwork, and navigating the job market. Students have access to resume reviews, mock interviews, and mentoring sessions with engineering professionals from across industries. The event culminates in a career fair that is the largest for women engineers globally, with over 500 companies actively recruiting interns and full-time hires, the majority of students receive interviews and offers on-site.

Moreover, WE25 is not just about individual gain. Students who attend bring back invaluable knowledge to their external organizations, classrooms, and teams. They return more confident, better connected, and equipped with ideas that improve inclusion, leadership, and professional development on campus. In the past, students from Texas A&M have presented on our chapter's initiatives, earned recognition through SWE recognition awards, and secured competitive job opportunities, all while building Aggie presence in a space that empowers women in engineering.

Given the direct connection between the conference's programming and career readiness, WE25 is a high-impact educational opportunity that aligns with Texas A&M's mission to develop leaders of character. We ask that the College of Engineering recognize WE25 as an excused event, allowing students to coordinate makeup exams or quizzes. This small accommodation enables students to pursue transformative learning and recruiting experiences without penalty.

Empowering our students to attend WE25 shows institutional support for inclusive excellence, professional development, and Aggie engineers who are shaping the future of STEM.
