The AFA Crop Science Institute brings up to 60 talented college men and women together to take part in a three-day program. The itinerary will provide interaction between students and crop sector leaders; expose students to area businesses and other related service providers and include discussion and training to enhance student preparation to enter careers in the agriculture industry. AFA recognizes the diversity that makes up the crop science sector, and in an effort to expose young leaders to numerous aspects of the sector, AFA intends to rotate the location of this Institute to various locations throughout the U.S. from year to year. The 2019 Crop Science Institute will be held in Sacramento, California.
Students interested in attending the AFA Crop Science Institute are selected through an application process. Students are selected based on industry and leadership involvement, career goal and articulation of the benefit of the program to their career development. Once selected to attend the Institute the only cost to the student is travel. Hotel, meals, and event materials are covered by AFA and its partners.
