Description:

This event, on Nov7th at 9:00-1:00, is a comprehensive tour of an oil drilling pipe factory. This includes a meeting to discuss NOV and Prideco as a company, then a presentation on a drill pipe and how it is used at a high level, then to a plant tour where we will go through the Upset Line, Heat Treatment Line, Welder, Metallurgical Test Lab, and back to the main building for questions and lunch. This tour is meant to give our engineering organization a look into the manufacturing methods at a real life plant in order to bolster our knowledge and understanding of manufacturing. Even though this event is not required for a course and does not qualify as an authorized event, we want it to be a university excused absence for our members, as it does take place during the morning but is still important to the development of our members. Is there a way to make that happen?
