The purpose of the National Association of Black Geologists and Geophysicists is to:

1. To bring geologists and geophysicists of the Texas A&M University together.
2. Foster a strong affiliation between the National Association of Black Geologists and Geophysicists society and the students at the Texas A&M University
3. Encourage scholarship, leadership and fellowship among geo-sciences students.
4. Inform students of scholarships, grants and other financial aid available to students.
5. Inform students of career opportunities in geology and geophysics.
