- 1. To honor those who attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language, culture, and in the literature's study of the Spanish-speaking world. 2. To foster friendly relations and mutual respect between the nations of Spanish speech and those of English speech. 3. To encourage university students to gain greater interest and a deeper understanding of the Hispanic language and culture. 4. To honor those who have made the Hispanic contribution to the modern world, better known and appreciated in the English-speaking world. 5. To serve its membership in ways that will contribute to the attainment of the goals and ideals of the society.
