TAMUG First Generation Students of Galveston

About This Organization

Abbreviation(s):
1GSG
Purpose:
The First Generation Student of Galveston seeks to raise awareness within Texas A&M University at Galveston student and professional community through activities and programs designed to foster the education of first generation students. The definition of a First-Generation
student is when your parent(s) did not complete a 4-year college or university degree, regardless of other family member's level of education. Our organization does not exclude those who are in graduate programs. The TAMUG First Generation Student of Galveston pledges to lead the change for more acknowledgement and advocate for the implementation of practices which grow and sustain our underrepresented student community.
