Purpose:
Purpose:
• To serve as a liaison between the TAMU SOM rural medicine department and the Texas A&M medical students
• Establish a source of information for medical students interested in pursuing a career in rural medicine

Mission Statement:
The Rural Medicine Interest Group's mission is to promote rural health initiatives by educating medical students on the nuances of practicing rural medicine and the impact that it can have on the wellbeing of rural communities.
