Purpose:
The McAllen Student Advisory Council (MSAC) is the representative organization for the student body at The Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen (HECM).
The MSAC provides a forum for free and open discussion of matters affecting students at the Higher Education Center at McAllen and promotes the general welfare of the student body by serving as an advocate for student issues and presenting the student perspective to campus administration, faculty and college committees.
MSAC has been charged with improving campus life through the creation of viable and effective student services and increase student decision making power. MSAC will work tirelessly to fulfill its mission and is always on the lookout to create a better campus experience for future students.
The mission of the McAllen Student Advisory Council is to:
1. Provide representation for students of the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen.
2. Educate and stimulate student involvement in student affairs.
3. Promote communication and student involvement in all areas of university life at HECM.
4. Act as liaisons to the HECM executive leadership and staff.
