Description:

Swaram A Cappella will be travelling to UC Berkeley to represent Texas A&M University at Anahat A Cappella 2019. Having won first place at this national bid competition in the past, Swaram will be performing at Anahat again to have a chance to compete at the national championship for South Asian A Cappella, which Swaram has won twice (in 2017 and 2018). Swaram is proud to showcase the diversity and talent of Texas A&M and strives to uphold its reputation as the best South Asian a cappella team in the US. Recognized for its avant-garde twist on South Asian fusion a cappella, Swaram enjoys bringing powerful stories to its music through the representation of socially and politically prevalent concepts. This year, Swaram is focusing on a theme of suicide awareness in order to shed light on the overlooked and easily missed signs of depression and suicidal behaviors that impact students every year.
