Texas A&M's chapter of the American Medical Student Association (an officially recognized on campus organization) is taking 40 of our most active members to Washington DC for the AMSA National Convention. We have gone at least the past 3 years (as long as I have been here) an have gotten a university excused absence for all of the members that attend. This Convention is an INCREDIBLE opportunity for our members to listen to some great keynote speakers from world famous physicians, interact with various premedical student resources, learn how to advocate for things they believe in, build leadership skills, begin to build their network in the medical field, and learn how to make the most of their time as premedical student.
