Date Range:
April 7, 2017 to April 7, 2017
Event Type:
Sponsored
Location:
Rudder 601
Description:
Each year, Aggie Fish Club hosts an outreach program targeted for high school sophomores and juniors, called Facing Forward. The goal of this conference is to encourage these students to pursue higher education, and show them the benefits of a college degree.
This year the conference is on April 7th 2017. Check in starts around 8 AM, and check out is scheduled for 4 PM, but the schools have the option to leave earlier around 2 PM. The schools coming out are Navasota, Bryan Collegiate, Waller, Rudder, and College View.
The freshmen members of Aggie Fish Club have a full day planned for the students. The students participating in the conference will be broken up into small groups, where they have the opportunity to further get to know their Aggie Leaders and one another, through skits, games and bonding activities. We are also having speakers come out to further explain how college is achievable and further explain the benefits. Suzanne Rosser, Lauren Wyatt, a speaker from the financial aid office and our very own Aggie Fish Club freshmen have each planned a presentation for the day. Along with these activities, the high schoolers will also be taking tours around A&M and will be dining on campus.
This program is one that the freshmen of Aggie Fish Club are very excited to host and are very much looking forward to.showing these students what A&M is all about.
