RARE TAMU

Public Profile

About This Organization

Purpose:
Our four pillars will mimic that of the National Organization for Rare Diseases (NORD): education, advocacy, research, and patient services. Our organization will will work to educate students about rare diseases. We will have guest speakers (researchers, physicians, and patients) and student presentations as a fulfillment of these four pillars. We will also host service opportunities to reach out to patients with rare diseases and to raise money for research organizations. RARE TAMU will target pre-medical students as members to educate them on rare diseases and develop more well rounded, knowledgeable individuals that are prepared to enter the healthcare industry.
