Tau Beta Pi National Engineering Honor Society

About This Organization

Abbreviation(s):
TBP
Purpose:
Tau Beta Pi is the national engineering honor society representing all engineering disciplines. It was founded on the belief that an engineers education should comprise more than academics. It should lead to a well-rounded person through the "fostering of a spirit of liberal culture engineering." Those academically eligible, the top 1/5 of the senior class and 1/8 of the junior class, are invited to join, but must demonstrate that they posses strength of character in order to obtain member status through participation in cultural, social, community service environments.
